You love cars just as much as you love art. The two will come together with a bold bang at the 30th Annual Houston Art Car Parade. This parade is a big hit year after year, and 2017 won’t be an exception. Organizers anticipate over 250 mobile entries and more than 250,000 fans in attendance, so it is sure to be a party for the record books.
The event takes place on April 8 in downtown Houston. It will last from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. If you plan to attend, bring a lawn chair, beverages, and food along with you. Don’t bring Fido along, though. This is a human-only event.
After you arrive, get ready for some fun. Over 250 vehicles will drive by, with each one decorated to amaze the audience. This isn’t just some basic artwork, either. The cars feature intricate artwork that will make you ooh and ah.
More than Just a Parade
The parade might be the main event, but it is only a portion of what the event’s organizers have up their collective sleeves. The organizers have created an entire weekend of fun.
The fun begins with the Main Street Drag. This event takes place from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on April 6. This pre-parade art convoy will give you a taste of what to expect at the main event.
You can also attend the 2017 Legendary Art Car Ball on April 7 from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. It has been billed as a combination of Burning Man and Mardi Gras, so if you like to party, you need to attend this event.
Then, there will be an Awards Ceremony Brunch on April 9. It starts at noon and ends at 2 p.m. The panel of judges will award over $20,000 in prizes, so you will feel the excitement in the air if you attend.
The Car Art Parade is all about making a good impression. You don’t have to decorate your vehicle to make that impression. Instead, get a new vehicle from Mike Calvert Toyota in Houston, Texas, and you will be certain to turn some heads when you show up at the parade. From the efficient Prius to the powerful Tundra, the dealership has just what you’re looking for in a new ride.
